Privacy

CineKosh has no accounts and no newsletter. Your watchlist and city choice stay in your own browser. If you apply to contribute, CineKosh receives the information you submit in the careers form.

What CineKosh collects

The site has no public login, comments or subscription. Search runs in your own browser against a list the page already contains — what you type is never sent to the server and never written into the address bar. The one exception is arriving on a /search?q=… link somebody shared with you: that term is part of the address, so it appears in the request log described below.

Careers applications

Submitting an application sends your name, email, city, chosen role, languages, confirmation of accuracy and any optional contact details, experience, writing samples, profile links and answers you provide to CineKosh. Reviewer applications also include your viewing/deadline answer and professional writing languages; general applications include your areas of interest. No account or file upload is required.

Applications are sent through Resend to hello@cinekosh.in for reviewing suitability and contacting applicants about opportunities. Resend and the inbox provider process and may retain the message to deliver and store it. CineKosh does not publish applications, add them to its open film data or send their contents as analytics events. The form does not save a draft in browser storage or write applications to a site database.

To keep out spam, the careers form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It loads from challenges.cloudflare.com only when the application form scrolls into view, not for readers who never reach it. Turnstile receives your IP address and browser signals to tell people from bots, and CineKosh sends Cloudflare the resulting check token and your IP address to confirm it. Your application itself is never sent to Cloudflare.

Applications remain in the receiving mailbox until deleted. To ask about, correct or delete your application, email hello@cinekosh.in from the address used to apply. Please do not submit identity documents, passwords, payment details or other sensitive personal information.

What the server records

Like every website, CineKosh is served by a host that writes ordinary request logs — the IP address a request came from, the page asked for, the time and the browser’s user-agent string. An IP address counts as personal data, which is why it is named here. These logs are a by-product of serving pages, are not linked to any identity and are not used to build a profile of anyone.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a cookie to count visits. CineKosh itself sets none.

Watchlist storage

When you save a film, CineKosh stores its internal identifier and the release date shown at that moment in your browser’s local storage. This lets the watchlist survive a return visit and point out a later date change. The list is not sent to CineKosh, does not follow you to another device and can be removed one film at a time from the watchlist page or cleared with your browser’s site-data controls.

City and location

CineKosh stores your selected city in your browser’s local storage so ticketing links can open for that city on later visits. The site asks for location permission only if you press “Use my location”. Your browser then provides coordinates to this page, where they are matched to the nearest supported city and immediately discarded. Precise coordinates are never stored or sent to CineKosh. You can choose a city manually without sharing your location, and clear the saved choice with your browser’s site-data controls.

Analytics

CineKosh uses Google Analytics, through Firebase, to count visits and see which pages are read. It also counts when a ticketing or streaming link is followed, recording the film and the destination site’s domain — never the full link, which can carry a booking or account reference. Google receives the page address and your IP address, under its own terms. Search terms are never included. CineKosh sees totals, not people.

Embedded videos and artwork

Official trailers, full films and music videos use YouTube’s player. Song players load from youtube-nocookie.com only after you press Play. Trailer and full-film players may load before playback. Loading a player or a YouTube thumbnail contacts Google and shares ordinary request information, including your IP address, under Google’s privacy policy. Playing a video also shares playback activity with YouTube.

Song thumbnails, and official artwork shown on some news stories, load directly from YouTube or a permitted artwork provider, which receives the image request and your IP address. Spotify and YouTube Music are external links; their players are not embedded. The typeface is served from this domain rather than fetched from Google Fonts.

Links away from CineKosh

Streaming links, music-service links, official videos and source links lead to other companies’ sites. Once you follow one you are on their service, under their policy, and this one no longer applies.

Children

CineKosh is a film reference for readers. Reading the site does not require submitting personal details. The careers form collects the information applicants choose to submit, as described above.

Your rights, and how to ask

You can ask what personal information CineKosh holds about you, request a correction or request deletion. If you applied through careers, include the email address used for your application so it can be located in the mailbox. Write to hello@cinekosh.in and you will get a straight answer about what does and does not exist.

Changes

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. It is not rewritten quietly.
