Copyright & Takedown

CineKosh respects the rights of filmmakers and everyone else whose work appears on the site. If something here is yours and you do not want it here, it comes down.

What CineKosh shows

  • Videos — trailers, music videos and free full films are embedded from official or authorised YouTube uploads. The video file stays on YouTube. CineKosh never hosts, proxies, downloads or extracts audio or video files. Music-service links lead to the official platforms.
  • Posters and images — placeholders generated by CineKosh, unless a production has given permission to show its own artwork. Song cards may display YouTube thumbnails directly from YouTube, or artwork supplied with the rights holder’s permission. A news story about a film or song may show that work’s official promotional artwork from the rights holder’s own YouTube upload, to report on it. The image is shown unaltered, loads directly from YouTube rather than being copied onto CineKosh servers, and is credited with a link to the official upload. It comes down on request.
  • Platform logos — shown only to identify where a film can be watched or booked.
  • Writing and records — original to CineKosh, quoting others only briefly and with a link to the source.

How to send a takedown notice

Email hello@cinekosh.in with the subject line “Rights request” and include:

  1. The address of each CineKosh page the material appears on.
  2. Which image, video, passage or logo on that page is yours.
  3. Who you are and why the claim is yours to make — the rights holder or someone authorised to act for them, with the production or company name.
  4. Where the original was published, if it has been published.
  5. Whether you want it removed or credited differently.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised.

Notices written in the form used under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or under India’s Copyright Act, 1957, are equally welcome. Please do not send identity documents or passwords; they are not needed.

What happens next

You will get a reply within two working days. Material under a genuine ownership dispute is taken down while the claim is checked, not left up while the conversation runs. Where an embedded video is the problem, the embed is removed from CineKosh; the upload itself lives on YouTube, and removing it there needs a notice to YouTube’s copyright process.

Contesting a removal

If something was removed and you hold the rights or permission to have it shown — for example, you are the producer who uploaded the film — write with the page address and the basis for your permission. Where the evidence is clear, the material is restored and both sides are told.

Repeat problems

A source that is found to have uploaded material without permission is no longer used for any film.

Facts are not copyright

A release date, a cast list or a publicly announced figure is a fact, and facts are not removed on a copyright request. Disputes about whether a fact is correct go through the corrections process instead.
